
A Checklist for Performance Improvement in Coaching
Apr 09, 2021After creating goals and assessing the coachee’s performance, it is vital to formulate a plan to improve your coachee’s performance. Here is a useful checklist:
- What is the goal? Recall what is the desired outcome to be achieved.
- What are your roles? List down the tasks for you and your coachee.
- When will you do it? What is a reasonable deadline? Are there opportunities to invest in?
- How will you execute it? State clearly the steps and processes. Think about the resources and support needed.
- Potential challenges: Highlight the possible barriers the coachee may face such as lack of expertise knowledge. Think about what you as a coach can do to ease the way or provide a safety net for his efforts?
- Evaluation: How will you determine if the coachee has accomplished the goals?
- Accountability: What are the implications of success or failure? Is the coachee aware of the consequences or penalties if he fails to achieve the goals?
